A few months ago Natalie and I were planning the best time to shoot in her Brooklyn loft. We knew we had to schedule the shoot soon since she was traveling to Europe for her book tour and things were about to get crazy busy for both of us. We set a date but mother nature made a mighty mess out of things and sent a blizzard hurtling toward New York City.
“Are you really going to be able to travel in this nonsense?” Natalie asked me, so we sat that one out and let mother nature take that round.
I’m glad we rescheduled when we did, I was cutting it very very close to another a big commercial shoot for me which would keep me tied up for awhile and Natalie had to be in Europe the week after. But everything actually worked out beautifully…sunny skies and the most perfect natural lighting for shooting a spacious airy loft…a few of the images appeared on Design*Sponge . Since I loved Natalie’s claw foot tub I really had to throw this one in here….
I had a field day shooting around like a maniac, though I’m usually pretty conservative on number of shots I take, I do my best to make each shot count. It wasn’t easy being my selective self since there were so many small details Natalie styled that I personally loved.

PS Natalie humored me a bit with some of my shoot suggestions for one of her blog posts. We shot a bit of her and her adorable son Huck playing with the piles of her books she would be autographing later on. The image below was my favorite.
