Oh so lovely Olivia

Happy New Year friends!  I just had to share bits from this shoot, which was my first baby shoot almost a year and a half ago!  I mean, really, how could I have kept this lovely little face confined to my archives?  -CM

Samantha’s Portraits at the Highline

Just had to share these photos from Sam’s portrait session at the Highline.  This was such an easy and relaxed shoot for me!  I say easy because she is just gorgeous and photogenic that the photos practically took themselves (well, I had a little something to do with it).  Being that comfortable in front of a camera must have something to do with years spent performing in front of large audiences (ahem, Carnegie Hall) and maintaining perfect composure when all eyes (and ears) are on you!    Some people (not talking about myself here) can’t even go near a stage without getting the urge to hurl all over the place (and again, I’m not talking about myself).   As a professional musician she gets to do what she loves, which is automatic superstar status in my eyes. Talent, confidence, and passion are a winning combination and she’s got them all so I can only imagine what the future will hold for her.  – CM

Out-takes from cutest shoot ever

Just yesterday I did portraits of these two adorable munchkins.  The oldest one is my god-daughter and is one of the most entertaining people I know.   It’s the second year I’ve shot their Christmas portraits, but this year between myself, the hubby, and their mommy, there was certainly no problem keeping the energy level up just to keep them smiling and laughing.  Aside from the baby trying to eat everything in sight, it was a breeze and a great way to cap off the Thanksgiving holiday weekend! – CM

Samantha is not only a stellar musician, but a stylish city girl who certainly knows how to accessorize! I had such a blast photographing her last weekend against the backdrop of the Highline in Chelsea and the Meatpacking District.  Will be posting them soon! In the meantime, hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! -CM

Amazing Things Will Happen

by Mary Kate McDevitt on Etsy

My Oh My, this weekend just flew by!   While it went by quickly, it certainly wasn’t uneventful. It was filled with all the elements that I consider a good weekend: lots of time outdoors, good company, on-location shooting in my favorite NYC neighborhoods, photo-editing, Pinterest, happy surprises and lots of dessert.  I also still have my fingers tightly crossed over on an amazing opportunity I was contacted about over the weekend.  And even though this is just the beginning, and there’s a lot of hard work ahead, I can’t help but have a good feeling about all of it.  Have a fantastic week everyone! – CM
